Als octrooigemachtigde heeft Hajo te maken met een breed scala van wetenschappen en technologieën op het gebied van de chemie, farmacie en voedingsmiddelen. Hajo heeft ruime ervaring met het verkrijgen van octrooien en het voeren van oppositieprocedures, waaronder het bijwonen van hoorzittingen, bij het Europees Octrooibureau, en ook met internationale rechtszaken. Ook houdt hij zich veel bezig met due diligence-onderzoek voor octrooien en het ontwikkelen en verdedigen van octrooistrategieën voor verschillende bedrijven, zoals bijvoorbeeld life cycle management in farma.

Hajo is lid van de Nederlandse delegatie bij de EPI Council en tutor bij de Nederlandse beroepsopleiding voor octrooigemachtigden.

In zijn hoedanigheid van European Patent Litigator, is Hajo bevoegd om als UPC representative op te treden.
