Samen met zijn cliënten bepaalt Leo een IE-strategie en waar nodig dient hij octrooiaanvragen in, behandelt hij deze en verdedigt hij de IE-rechten van zijn cliënten wereldwijd. Onder dit laatste valt ook het betwisten van rechten van derden, licentiëring en FTO-onderzoek. Leo heeft ruime ervaring met octrooizaken bij de rechtbank in Den Haag en bij het Europees Octrooibureau.

Leo is actief betrokken bij de opleiding van nieuwe gemachtigden voor de Nederlandse, Europese en internationale octrooipraktijk. Verder is hij actief lid (voorzitter) van de IP Enforcement and Litigation Group van FICPI, de internationale federatie van IE‑gemachtigden.

In zijn hoedanigheid van European Patent Litigator, is Leo bevoegd om als UPC representative op te treden.
