Follow the annual course on intellectual property (IP). For innovative entrepreneurs who wish to improve their IP know-how, V.O. Patents & Trademarks organizes an advanced course on Thursday 14 November. This course will be given, in English, by our attorneys and features many practical examples. In terms of content, this course can be compared to the previous editions of our IP Academy course.
Advanced course – 14 November
The advanced course is intended for IP managers and IP responsibles having some practical experience. The course is in line with the basic course, that took place on 26 September last, but is also accessible to those who have not followed the basic course. The focus of the advanced course is on the strategic importance of IP. The course also addresses topics like financing, valuation, forms of collaboration, and the rights and obligations involved in licensing.
Valuation of Intellectual Property
Patent protection is of paramount importance in the technology industry, especially when large up-front investments are required for developing a marketable product. Filing and maintaining a patent portfolio, however, can be a costly endeavor. The ability to quantitatively assess and communicate the value of a patent portfolio can lead to more substantiated internal discussions and better decisions. In this session we will discuss a general approach to the valuation of IP and how you can apply this to your own portfolio.
