Alexander van Loon studied at the Wittenberg University in the United States, and at Utrecht University where he obtained his masters degree in Biomolecular Sciences in 2005. He acquired research experience at the University Medical Center Utrecht and at the Eidgenӧssische Technische Hochschule (ETH) in Zurich.

Since then Alexander has been active in the field of patents. As a Dutch and European patent attorney he advised a great many clients, from private persons to international organizations, about intellectual property rights in general and patent issues in particular. He acquired broad experience in patent cases with respect to a varying range of subjects, amongst which biomedical devices and applications, processes and devices relating to plant growth and development, and safety equipment.

Alexander joined V.O. in 2015, where he applies his broad experience in patents and expertise in the field of molecular biology to assist clients. He works mainly at the V.O. office branches in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and Amersfoort.
