Devon Matthews started his career in 2007 as a Product Engineer in the automotive industry and later moved to the mining industry where he gained the majority of his experience as a registered Professional Engineer in South Africa.

He holds a B.Ing in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Johannesburg and a M.Sc in Intellectual Property Law and Knowledge Management from the University of Maastricht.

Devon has expertise in the design and maintenance of hoists and elevator systems, trackless mobile machinery, mineral processing and sizing, tyres, ventilation fans and bulk haulage systems including conveyors. He further has experience in automotive safety equipment such as webbing retractors and airbags, sound attenuation technologies as well as steel manufacturing-and-fabrication techniques.
