Ellen van Agtmaal studied biotechnology at Wageningen University (2007). After her graduation, Ellen did PhD research in the field of cellular biology and vascular biology at Sanquin, Amsterdam, Section Plasma Proteins, where she took her PhD 2012. Next, she worked as a postdoc researcher at Radboud UMC Nijmegen, Section Cellular Biology, where she did research on myotonic dystrophy.
