Harrie Marsman started working at V.O. in 1989, where he was a partner up to his retirement in June 2018. Before joining V.O. he studied chemistry at Radboud University Nijmegen. Since July 2018, Harrie has been associated with V.O. as an of-counsel.
His specialisms are polymer chemistry, food technology, (bio)physical chemistry and inorganic chemistry. Harrie has also gained particular expertise in the formal aspects of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and the European Patent Convention,and has considerable experience in dealing with oppositions and attending oral hearings before the European Patent Office. Harrie has experience in patent cases before the court in The Hague.
As a tutor, Harrie assists trainees in the preparation for the European qualification examination (CEIPI). He is also senior lecturer Practical Skills Chemistry for the Dutch qualification examination.
Since July 2007, Harrie had been the financial director of V.O. and he had been responsible for coordinating the training of the trainees and junior associates. He was member of the board of directors of V.O.

The main goal and mission is to challenge students to come up with great innovative solutions to societal problems out-of-the-box, and translate them into real products and business plans.

Six months ago, 190 students from 33 different countries started their journey with the ReThink Waste Challenge to come up with a circular and biobased innovation to reduce, reuse or recycle waste. After two milestone reports, entrepreneurial trainings and several workshops, only 46 of them are still in the competition. The top 10 teams are now preparing to face the Rethink Waste Challenge Jury on 21 June during the Grand Finals.
