Since 1 October 2022, Montenegro has been a full EPC member state. Before that, Montenegro had the status of an enlargement country.
The Montenegro enlargement regime continues to apply to European and international applications filed before 1 October 2022, as well as European patents granted for such applications. Therefore, in Euro-PCT applications entering the European phase with an international filing date before 1 October 2022, Montenegro will not have been designated as an EPC member state.
