On 26 October, the seminar ‘Nagoya Protocol – implications and consequences of using genetic resources’ was on the agenda. This event was jointly organised by the V.O. offices in Munich and Clariant, a Swiss chemicals concern that operates worldwide. In short, companies that work with research and development of so-called genetic sources must adhere to specific, strict rules under the Nagoya Protocol. Six speakers dealt with all the ins and outs and answered questions from the audience. The seminar involved over 40 participants, including representatives from official Germany authorities. This high attendance shows the relevancy of the subject for the Germany target group.
