V.O. takes up mentoring role at Start-up Bootcamp

At the end of November, Demoday formed the conclusion to the HighTechXL Start-up Bootcamp (SBC) in Eindhoven. This is the first Dutch accelerator programme to focus exclusively on high-tech start-ups.

Patent attorney Bart Jan Niestadt acts as a mentor for the project: “The objective is to make participants aware of the importance of IP and provide advice in this area. I will offer start-ups tailored advice at no obligation. We have now also extended our role in Eindhoven with the addition of a trademark attorney.”

Approximately ten start-up companies are selected prior to the start of each programme by means of a thorough process. Over the course of three months, those start-ups will receive extensive support and guidance from the mentors and the SBC organisation. Niestadt: “At the end of the programme, the start-ups will pitch to interested investors on Demoday. In return for its participation, the SBC organisation receives a stake in the start-ups.” V.O. now participates in all Dutch programmes organised by SBC, including HighTechXL SBC Eindhoven, SBC Smart Materials (Brightland campus Geleen) and the SBC Smart City & Living and SBC E-commerce programmes in Amsterdam.
