As a trainee trademark and design attorney you will follow an in-house training programme lasting 3 years, during which you will learn how to manage the trademark and design portfolios of clients at home and abroad. Working with a mentor, you will start advising clients about how to protect and enforce their trademarks, designs, trading names and copyright. Along the way, you will learn how to supervise and monitor registration procedures and how to maintain contact with clients and official bodies in the most effective way. Your training will also teach you how to conduct opposition and patent invalidity proceedings. In all of the above areas, you will ensure that your clients’ commercial interests are represented in the most effective way possible. You will be given the opportunity to follow the external professional training leading to the profession of trademark attorney offered by the Benelux Foundation for the Professional Training of Trademark and Design Attorneys (BBMM) and to sit the relevant professional examination.
