Stéphanie Bruekers studied Molecular Life Sciences (MSc) at the Radboud University Nijmegen. She also carried out research at the University of Cambridge (UK), which focused on keratinocyte single cell differentiation. Subsequently she performed her doctoral studies on the influences of substrate structures on cellular development at the Radboud University in the department of Physical-Organic Chemistry.

Hereafter, she applied the acquired knowledge at a biotech start-up devoted to the development of synthetic hydrogels for three-dimensional cell culture.
