Marco’s expertise ligt op het terrein van chemische octrooien, met de nadruk op levensmiddelentechnologie, procestechnologie en industriële biotechnologie. Hij is verder in het bijzonder geïnteresseerd in die terreinen waar de chemie en andere disciplines elkaar ontmoeten, bijv. medische technologie en laboratoriumtechnologie. Het zwaartepunt van zijn werk ligt bij het opstellen van octrooiaanvragen, de behandeling van octrooizaken op verschillende rechtsterreinen, Europese oppositiezaken en – incidenteel – rechtszaken.

In zijn hoedanigheid van European Patent Litigator, is Marco bevoegd om als UPC representative op te treden.
